Finding a job is more competitive now than ever, and finding a dream job is ever harder. Standing out in the crowd is a needed skill in landing great opportunities, and the Ryerson Career Centre and The Fashion Zone are excited to be hosting Making It In Canada, a panel discussion and networking opportunity that focuses on connecting students with inspiring professionals from the Canadian design landscape.

On September 21 from 6-830PM at the Sandbox located in the Student Learning Centre at Ryerson University, the event will bring students in direct contact with professionals from advertising, fashion, interior design, and digital marketing and hear their stories of how they made it to where they are today.

SPEAKER 1 – DUHIN NANDA
Duhin is a segment producer on eTalk, and a host of YTV. Having graduated Ryerson in 2016 from Television and Media Production, and receiving a certification in Digital Marketing and Social Media strategy from Harvard, Duhin is one of the youngest media professionals in Canada.

SPEAKER 2 – KEVIN EISENBERG
Kevin is a senior buyer and merchandise manager from Harry Rosen. Coming from Skidmore College from New York, Kevin worked for Holt Renfrew and now Harry Rosen with a focus in menswear, designer sports wear, and outerwear.

SPEAKER 3 – LISA HAMILTON
Lisa is a director of digital production from leading advertising agency, J. Walter Thompson Worldwide. As a producer who has over 17 years in project management, Lisa currently works on accounts such as Air Canada, Mazda, Walmart, Ali Budd Interiors, and Children’s Miracle Network.

SPEAKER 4 – STANLEY SUN
Stanley is the partner at Mason Studio, one of Toronto’s top interior design firms. Having graduated Ryerson with an honours in interior design, Stanley started as a designer, worked as a teaching assistant and instructor at The School of Interior Design at Ryerson, worked overseas in the UK, and is now a partner at Mason Studio.
