The POA Educational Foundation Student Entrepreneur Grant will annually provide three students with $6,000 each, to assist them in pursuing their business full-time in a Ryerson Zone upon graduation. Students in their final year of study who have an innovative business idea—either for a new business or to grow an existing business into a full-time venture after graduation—are eligible to apply. Funds will be disbursed to the award recipients while they are in their final year of study to offset tuition fees and/or to provide an investment in their business.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
To be eligible for this award, students must:
• Be in their final year of study at Ryerson University
• Be a current member of a Ryerson Zone or wish to join a Ryerson Zone to grow their
innovative business (new or existing) upon graduation
• Be in good academic standing

WEIGHTED CRITERIA
• 40% – Innovative Business Model
• 40% – Business Plan
• 20% – Social Impact

SELECTION AND ADMINISTRATION
• Applicants will submit a statement (750 words maximum) outlining:

  1. Their innovative business idea
  2. How they will benefit from participation in the Zone ecosystem
  3. Which Zone they wish to join and why (if applicable)
  4. How they would use the award funds to accelerate their business

•Statement above to be accompanied by a formal business plan
• Demonstration of clear academic standing
