The DMZ at Ryerson University is the leading business incubator for tech startups in North America. We help high-potential tech startups grow and scale their business by connecting them with customers, capital, experts and a community of entrepreneurs and influencers. In six years, the DMZ has grown more than 250 companies that have raised $280 million and created more than 2,500 jobs. Our mission is to put more Canadian businesses on the map.

Sandbox by DMZ

Sandbox is the DMZ’s community arm located on the third floor of Ryerson University’s Student Learning Centre. It’s an open and collaborative space that provides students and the general community with access to a curated list of creative, digital and entrepreneurial skills and opportunities. These programs are delivered by some of North America’s leading organizations – like MaRS, RBC, RED Academy and Red Bull among others – who work together to offer seminars, workshops and programs in the fields of arts, business and tech. Unlike other learning spaces, all Sandbox programs are free, interdisciplinary, hands-on and skills-based.
